A delicious modern take on the traditional Indian yoghurt beverage that has been loved for ages is the Strawberry Lassi. A favourite in India, particularly during the sweltering summer months, lassi is traditionally a refreshing, creamy beverage prepared with yoghurt, water, and a small pinch of salt or sugar. By fusing the sweet, tangy appeal of fresh strawberries with the creamy deliciousness of yoghurt, this strawberry-infused version elevates the traditional lassi to a whole new level.
In addition to being aesthetically pleasing because to its blush-pink colour, this beverage is naturally high in vitamins, probiotics, and antioxidants. It combines the sweet scent of strawberries with the refreshing properties of lassi, making it both decadent and nutritious.
StrawberryLassi is a delicious and nutritious combo that's ideal for breakfast, a midday snack, or as a sweet finish to a hot Indian supper. It is a fantastic way to enjoy strawberries in a novel and delectable way, and it is suitable for both children and parties.

Ingredients

  • Main Ingredients:
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup plain yogurt preferably chilled
  • ¼ cup cold milk or water for a lighter version
  • 2 –3 tablespoons sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder optional, for a hint of Indian flavor
  • 1 teaspoon rose water or a few drops of vanilla essence optional, for aroma
  • A few ice cubes for blending and serving
  • For Garnish:
  • 1 –2 strawberries sliced or halved
  • Chopped pistachios or almonds optional
  • A small mint sprig for presentation

Method

  1. Step 1: First, get the strawberries ready.
  2. Use cold water to thoroughly wash the strawberries.
  3. Slice them into tiny pieces after removing the green tips.
  4. To unleash their natural juices, let your strawberries lie for 5 to 10 minutes after adding a teaspoon of sugar if they are sour. This adds sweetness and flavour to the lassi.
  5. Step 2: Mix the Components
  6. Put the cut strawberries, cold milk, cooled yoghurt, and sugar or honey in a blender.
  7. For a subtle scent, mix with cardamom powder and rose water (or vanilla essence).
  8. To create a frosty texture, add a few ice cubes.
  9. On high speed, blend the ingredients until it is creamy, foamy, and smooth.
  10. Taste the lassi and add extra milk or sugar to alter its thickness or sweetness.
  11. Step 3: Cool and Present
  12. Fill tall glasses with the strawberry lassi.
  13. Add some chopped nuts, sliced strawberries, and a sprig of mint as garnish.
  14. For optimal flavour and texture, serve right away while still cold and foamy.
  15. Possible Changes
  16. Vegan Version: Use plant-based yoghurt (such as almond or coconut yoghurt) in lieu of yoghurt and almond or oat milk in place of milk.
  17. Thick Lassi: For a rich, dessert-like consistency, use Greek yoghurt or hung curd.
  18. Smoothie Style: For added creaminess and natural sweetness, add half a banana.
  19. Frozen Strawberry Lassi: For a consistency similar to a milkshake, use frozen strawberries rather than fresh ones.
